Fitting of Bushes
The bush is inserted into its housing with the aid of a stepped mandrel, preferably made from case hardened mild steel, as shown in Below picture. The following should be noted to avoid damage to the bearing:
• Housing diameter is as recommended
• 15-30° lead-in chamfer on housing
• edges of lead-in chamfer are deburred
• The bush must be square to the housing
• Light smear of oil on bush OD

Cutting Strip Material sleeve bushing strip material may be cut to size. Care must be taken to protect the bearing surface from damage and to ensure that no deformation of the strip occurs.
